The Level 2 Support role has the responsibility to provide Level 2 support to the Core Product team. Reporting to the Team's Technical Lead and working with the Lead Scrum Master, the successful person will work to develop a deep knowledge of the core product, troubleshoot issues as they arise, work with L3 support to define and implement solutions.

    Requirements

    • The successful Java Developer will have the following qualifications and experience:
      • 2+ years experience developing Java applications
      • Hands-on software developer with proven Java 8 and Unit testing experience
      • Strong team player
      • Strong communication
      • Troubleshooting and problem solving
      • Experience in Linux
      • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Engineering is a plus
    • The core Product uses the following technologies and services. Experience with any of the following technologies will be viewed favorably, however the right attitude and a willingness to solve problems and learn is more important, as the role will provide an opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in these areas:
      • Experience working with AWS
      • Micro Service Architecture
      • Experience with functional and performance testing
      • Knowledge of CI systems (Jenkins)
      • Knowledge of Docker

    Responsibilities

    • Level 2 Support:
      • Be the first-point-of-contact for Level 1 support, providing troubleshooting and finding solutions to customer system issues.
    • Core Product Reliability & Development:
      • Working with the Scrum Master and Customer Managers, provide front-line support for defect investigation, resolution and deployment within the Agile Scrum framework
      • Working with the Scrum Master and Customer Managers, oversee implementation and support of supplier pricing APIs.
      • Work with Scrum Master to review backlog and ensure optimal allocation of tasks to Core Product Support Team
      • Implement and monitor alarms for identified issues
    • Core Product Reliability & Development:
      • Work with project teams to migrate project-based enhancements into the Core-Product support process, ensuring knowledge transfer from implementers to Core Product team and documentation of new features (it is not necessarily your responsibility to document, but to ensure there is a handover of documentation to allow proper support)
    • Core Product Deployment:
      • Learn the steps for deployment of new customer instances in the Steamhaus environment
      • Build and Deployment of new customer test and production environments as ticketed tasks within the Core Product Team
    • Product Improvement:
      • Participate in the Weekly Architectural Review process. Provide feedback on issues.
      • With input from Senior architects, propose, design and implement solutions to improve system quality, performance and maintenance
